FAQ

Am I supposed to do the exercises here?
No. That would defeat the purpose. Just read the posts and visualize yourself doing the exercises.

Does this actually work?
Here's the fun sciencey part: your brain is actually very bad at telling what's real and what's not. That's why your heart rate goes up when you watch a scary movie or read The Hunger Games. When your brain takes in the information on the page, it thinks it's actually happening and tells your body to respond accordingly.
Studies have been done that demonstrated that thinking about exercise is 30%-70% as effective as actually exercising. It’s also about 99% easier than actually exercising. I like those numbers.
So is this an effective form of exercise?
It’s arguably more effective than nothing.
Will I build muscle strength doing this?
The evidence says yes.
Will I lose weight doing this?
Maybe.
Is this an easy way to lose weight?
It’s certainly easy.
Is this a fast way to lose weight?
Really, even real exercise isn’t a fast way to lose weight, given that jogging for twenty minutes will only burn something like 80 calories more than your regular metabolic rate (fyi that’s about an Oreo). And we all know that jogging is awful and bad for your knees.
If you really want to lose weight, reducing your caloric intake is usually the only really effective way to do it, but if you weren't planning on doing that anyways, increasing your muscle strength will increase your metabolic rate which will increase the amount of calories that you burn even while resting.

Are you trying to sell me something?
No.
